Team Coeur Weekend

Showing our heart and sass

One of the cool things about being an Ambassador for Coeur Sports is the group of like-minded women it connects you with. A couple of us were able to meet up in Solvang California for a bit of training and hanging out. It was EXACTLY what my soul needed! I have been really bummed about having to stop training the Boston Marathon. So a weekend with ladies that love what I love and are so full of heart and courage filled me up with all the happy!

Courtney, Christine, Michelle, Lilias and I had an awesome time riding bikes, hanging out, eating food, and finding sprinkles where ever we could. Below a re some pictures of the weekend. I know we need to all do this again. It was the highlight of my month for sure (and the best way to spend my Birthday!).

Well Double Crap!

I did everything I was supposed to. I did my exercises. I rested. I iced. I did all of it. Monday I finally went for my first run to test out the calf. ZERO pain!!! It was amazing. I was about to write a post about how I had 6 weeks to get ready for Boston. I truly felt I could get in enough miles/time to at least enjoy the day an have fun in Boston.

But I wanted to get one more good run under my belt before I declared I was healed. I went out for 4 easy miles again on Wednesday but after 2 miles I felt my calf “pop” and knew that running Boston was not for me this year. Then walking down the stairs last night it popped again. Ugh…

Yes, I am really upset. Yes, I have had Boston dreams since 2011 when I first qualified. But this isn’t the end of the world and I keep reminding myself that the big goal is Ironman Wisconsin in September and there is plenty of time for that! For now I will heal up and come back stronger and faster!

It will take heart and courage but lucky for me I am pretty well endowed in that department!

Side note: We are still going to Boston to cheer our hearts out! When life gives you lemons…
